01What cookies are#
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between visits or page loads, such as the fact that you are signed in. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. This policy covers all of them and explains how Modulon Health uses them on this website, in the Modulon platform, and on the booking, intake and payment pages patients reach from their clinic.
02Our approach#
We keep cookies to a minimum. In particular, we do not use:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Cookies or pixels that track you across other websites.
- Social media tracking pixels, on any page and least of all on pages patients use.
- Session recording or fingerprinting tools.
Cookies are never used to collect patient health information for any purpose other than running the service for the clinic.
03Cookies we use#
Strictly necessary
These make the website and platform work, and cannot be switched off without breaking them. Because they are strictly necessary, the law, including the EU ePrivacy Directive and the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, does not require your consent for them.
| Purpose | Where | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Keeping you signed in and securing your session | Platform | Until you sign out or the session expires |
| Remembering a completed multi-factor sign-in on a trusted device | Platform | 30 days |
| Protecting forms against cross-site request forgery | Website,platform | Session |
| Routing traffic and protecting the service from abuse | Website, platform | Up to 24 hours |
| Keeping a patient's place while they book, fill in forms or pay | Patient pages | Session |
Preferences
These remember choices you make, so you do not have to make them again. On the website, one cookie remembers the region you choose, so we show you the policies that apply there; it lasts a year. In the platform, your browser remembers choices such as table layouts and filters. None of them is shared with anyone.
Analytics
The website does not currently use analytics cookies. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it, including in Europe and the United Kingdom.
04Third-party services#
Some features rely on providers that may set their own strictly necessary cookies, such as the secure payment fields a patient uses to pay a balance, which our payment processor serves to prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by the provider's own policy.
05Controlling cookies#
You can view and delete cookies, and block them for all or some websites, in your browser's settings. Most browsers explain how in their help pages. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in to the platform, or finish booking or paying on a patient page.
We honor Global Privacy Control signals. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing further to opt out of.
06Changes and contact#
We will update this page whenever we change the cookies we use, and change the date at the top. For more on how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy, or write to hello@modulonhealth.com.
